Billie Holiday’s instrumental role in our society is undeniable. She accomplished so much and overcame incredible barriers and that’s worth celebrating! This video celebrates her career by going back to the beginning and focuses on key moments in her life.

Stylistically, we were inspired by Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series. He used simple shapes to convey a larger story. We aimed to capture that essence while putting a modern twist on it. You can find small segments from this video on Spotify Canvas as well.
